The Manager, Sales Operations at F5 is a strategic leadership role focused on driving operation execution and planning for the Sales Operations Center of Excellence (COE) team in Guadalajara. This position reports directly to the Director, Sales Compensation while being closely aligned to theater operations and Sales teams. Sales Operations provides essential services and support to F5’s sales organization across a breadth of key business processes, including BI & analytics, sales compensation & planning, strategy, licensing, and sales operations support. This role will work in close conjunction with management from those key Sales Operations functions to prioritize and manage COE activities in support of those operational areas.
The leader of this department will nurture and grow a high-performing team passionate about process automation & process improvement, reporting infrastructure design & analysis, proactive stakeholder engagement, and offering high-quality stakeholder support. The COE manager will also help internal business partners make more informed strategic and operational decisions that will drive sales productivity and contribute to F5’s overall growth strategy. This role has a global scope and will be chartered to develop and implement consistent standards & best practices around the world.
As F5’s marketplace evolves, it is imperative that we have a leadership focus on sales operations excellence who has a lens for performance measurement, productivity optimization, enablement design and team leadership.
**This is a hybrid work opportunity at the F5 office in Guadalajara. You must be able to commute to the office 30 times per quarter. This is NOT a remote position.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for conducting regular team meetings – encouraging team contribution and collaboration towards the development and improvement of processes and procedures
- Act as the go-to expert resource for all Sales Compensation related questions from the Guadalajara CEO team
- Establish and define key KPIs and data sets to monitor team performance and drive productivity
- Provide in-depth training, communication, education and documentation on current processes and best practices to the Guadalajara CEO team
- Management duties including the supervision of exempt and/or nonexempt level staff. This includes but is not limited to, conducting performance evaluations, approving paid time-off (PTO), assigning or delegating work, providing on-the-job training, giving guidance to staff, conducting performance improvement plans, taking disciplinary action, and interviewing candidates for open positions
- Work collaboratively, and efficiently with all internal and external partners and stakeholders, providing the business analytic support to help drive decisions that are critical to the ongoing growth of the business
- Local Point of Contact for escalations within the team and from Sales and F5 Management
- Manage the ongoing development and improvement of strategy and intelligence practices, delivering key recommendations and supporting the strategic direction of the business
- Act as liaison between Field Sales, Inside Sales, Channel Sales, Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, Finance and Accounting
- Monitor and maintain assigned program(s)
- Responsible for upholding F5’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of experience
- 8+ years of Sales compensation design and administration experience
- 8+ years of experience supporting global Sales teams
- 3+ years of Analytics experience preferred
- 1+ years in a leadership role overseeing sales operations or field operations professionals and functions; experience managing global teams a plus (international time zones)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must have expert-level sales compensation experience covering operational, theoretical, and strategic compensation design and industry-standard best practices
- Must be detailed oriented with a proven ability to multi-task
- Advanced communication skills, both in written and verbal form, to interact with cross functional teams and departments
- Self-motivated and able to work with little direct supervision
- Strong ability to work under time constraints and meet tight deadlines
- Passion for customer experience and exceeding expectations
- Advanced understanding or knowledge of sales processes, order administration processes, etc.
- Management experience with track record of building and developing a successful team and working with cross functional teams to launch new products and optimize business levers.
- Strong interest in identifying process improvement opportunities that support the key business operations
- Expert ability to draw concise, well supported recommendations based on issues presented
- Strong Experience with SFDC, Oracle and Varicent
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic fast paced environment, with minimal supervision
- Previously worked in a high-tech environment required
- Advanced in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
