Summary
We are looking for a Carrier Development Representative, in this position you’ll be responsible for establishing and developing new carrier relationships. You will also assist with evaluating and improving existing carrier relationships and utilization of our affiliate’s current network.
Key responsibilities
- Sourcing and qualifying new cross-border & intra-Mexico carriers
- Developing and analyzing KPIs to evaluate performance of existing carriers and communicating findings and recommendations for improvements to internal stakeholders
- Working with our affiliates’ operations teams to maintain and improve service levels and implement new carrier initiatives
- Assisting with onboarding new carriers
- Traveling up to 75% for carrier meetings and trade shows
- Handling carrier disputes, accounting needs, and freight claims as needed
- Researching market trends to recommend process efficiencies that improve internal and external customer relationships
- Maintaining regular touchpoints with carriers to ensure service levels are meeting and exceeding expectations
- Monitoring capacity for our customers, addressing any issues, and notifying stakeholders of industry changes
Requirements
- 5+ years experience in Mexico carrier development or sales
- Fluent in Spanish and English
- Strong Negotiation skills
- Ability to travel up to 75% to source and meet with regional carriers within Mexico
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- MS Suite skills – Outlook, Word, Excel
- Experience in a fast-paced environment with rapid and everchanging priorities
