Molex is seeking an experienced Product Design Engineer to design industry-leading high-speed connectors and cable systems for big data and hyperscale customers. In this role, you will lead innovative projects from concept through high-volume production, delivering smart data solutions that address our customers' toughest challenges and drive the future of data communications.

You will join the Copper Solutions IO enterprise division, a dynamic global team of highly skilled professionals passionate about developing cutting-edge interconnect products. This collaborative group works closely across functions to innovate, learn continuously, and deliver best-in-class products to the market.
What You Will Do:
- Design and develop new interconnect products, including high-speed connectors, cable assemblies, and mechanical hardware for data communication and telecom applications.
- Collaborate with signal integrity, manufacturing integration, program management, sales, R&D, and quality teams to create cost-effective, high-performance designs.
- Develop product and application specification documents that meet customer and market requirements.
- Present concepts and detailed requirements internally and externally to gain support for major new products.
- Support manufacturing and quality assurance during product launches, including travel to manufacturing sites.
- Build strong relationships with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to foster a collaborative One Molex culture.
- Lead efforts to identify, evaluate, and implement new technologies and methods to improve products, reduce costs, and enhance new product development processes.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced engineers on multiple development projects.
- Work with marketing and external customers to define project opportunities and translate requirements into detailed product concepts.
- Manage product development steps from concept through tooling, quoting, and production launch, ensuring documentation and follow-up of all action items.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 7+ years of mechanical product design and development experience with proven technical leadership.
- Proficient in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
- Experienced with advanced parametric 3D CAD systems.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as progressive die stamping, injection molding, die casting, and insert molding.
- Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate in a global and cross-functional team environment.
What Will Put You Ahead:
- Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience with Siemens NX CAD software.
- Design experience with high-speed, high-density connectors, cable assemblies, and interconnect products.
- Familiarity with electroplating, automated assembly processes, and regulatory testing requirements (UL/CSA, NEBS, EMC/EMI).
- Practical knowledge of Six Sigma quality development tools (DOE, FMEA) and effective project management skills.
