Job Description
What are your contributions to the team?
- Design, specify, test, validate and release Propulsion Systems components for assigned vehicle families.
- Analyze and solve parts-related failures; propose, validate and obtain cost reductions.
- Document changes or modifications to components (Change Notices).
- Request and authorize testing to validate compliance with Design Requirements (DVP&R).
- Evaluate requests for component functional testing in assembly plants (Production Evaluation Request).
- Release temporary approvals for part validation (Interim Approval Authorization).
- Analyze and solve functional and durability failures (Customer Problem Resolution Team, Quality Alerts, etc.).
- Develop parts with suppliers according to the Source Package process.
- Support Assembly Plants with specifications and design changes.
- Use hardware/software tools to create and modify designs; attend training and development programs.
- Standardize and benchmark components.
- Create FMEA documents.
- Approve/reject Temporary Substitution documents.
- Request prototype parts to solve warranty issues.
- Create cost reduction proposals.
- Obtain product change information, implementation dates, bulletins, standards, BOMs, and engineering graphs.
- Create and approve Tool Kick Off (TKO) requests.
- Verify manufacturing process before mass production release.
- Request and obtain concurrencies on validations and deviations.
- Coordinate DFMEAs and PFMEAs with suppliers.
- Support Pilot and Pre-series events in Assembly Plants.
- Design parts in NX Software (2D & 3D).
Design Experience in the Following Components:
- Electronic modules support brackets.
- Accessories components for Internal Combustion Engine / Electric Motor / Power Electronics.
- Internal and surrounding components for Internal Combustion Engine / Electric Motor / Power Electronics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automotive, Electric, Electro-mechanical, etc).
- Preferably 3–5 years of experience in the automotive industry as a Product Engineer or in product development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Solid knowledge of automotive vehicles and systems, assembly and manufacturing, part validations.
- Knowledge in Internal Combustion Engines, thermodynamics, statistics, testing, validation, and failure solving.
- Strong communication and presentation skills; proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Minitab.
- Proficiency in NX and/or CATIA design software.
- Proactive, analytical, inquisitive, and collaborative mindset.
- Disciplined with strong planning capabilities.
- The position primarily focuses on transmission systems.
