Position Title: Import Export Specialist
Position Summary:
The Import Export Specialist supports the coordination of international shipments crossing the US-Mexico border. This role focuses on operational execution, including communication with carriers and brokers, updating internal systems, and ensuring timely processing of shipments. The specialist ensures accurate task completion and maintains close collaboration with the operations team to meet customer and internal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Coordination
Coordinate daily border crossings with brokers, transfers, and/or carriers.
Monitor and respond to PreAlert emails shared by the day shift team.
Update shipments in the Optimiz system in alignment with crossing operations.
Communicate deviations or irregularities to the OCS/SCM team and escalate when needed.
Ensure punctual and reliable handling of all shipments and tasks.
Collaboration & Reporting
Maintain clear communication with peers and the Operations Supervisor.
Escalate shipment incidents, delays, or process concerns with accurate details.
Contribute to shift handovers by sharing clear, relevant shipment updates.
Follow established procedures and provide feedback for process improvement when applicable.
Schedule
Wednesday to Saturday, from 0600 to 1800
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; logistics or supply chain-related education is a plus.
Previous experience in border operations, freight forwarding, or related logistics functions preferred.
Knowledge of international transportation processes and documentation.
Basic proficiency in systems such as TMS (Optimiz experience preferred).
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Competencies
Attention to detail and proactive task ownership.
Team-oriented attitude and willingness to collaborate.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a strong plus.
Familiarity with US-Mexico customs processes and coordination with carriers.
