In this position... You will be a pivotal leader in ensuring robust customs and trade compliance for Ford's operations in Mexico. As a Customs Supervisor, you will drive the seamless execution of import/export processes, strategically engaging with global suppliers, buyers, and customs service providers. This role demands deep technical expertise in Mexican customs regulations, a sharp analytical mind, and the ability to proactively identify and mitigate risks, directly contributing to our Global Customs strategy and optimizing supply chain efficiency.
What you'll do...
- Customs Operations Leadership: Lead and oversee daily customs operations, ensuring accurate and efficient import/export processes in full compliance with Mexican regulations.
- Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Strategically coordinate engagement with internal buyers, global suppliers, and external customs brokers/service providers to optimize customs flows and swiftly resolve complex issues.
- Technical Expertise & Risk Mitigation: Provide expert technical and analytical support on intricate customs and trade compliance matters, proactively identifying risks and implementing robust solutions to ensure adherence to international trade laws.
- Process Optimization & Analytics: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within customs processes, leveraging data to identify inefficiencies, enhance operational performance, and contribute to measurable improvements in lead times and compliance rates.
- Compliance Assurance: Maintain an unwavering commitment to compliance, ensuring all activities meet or exceed regulatory standards and internal policies.
You'll have...
- Bachelor’s degree in international Trade, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 6+ years of progressive experience in the customs and trade compliance domain, with demonstrated leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
- Fluent in both Spanish and English (written and verbal).
- Expert-level understanding of Mexican customs regulations, international trade laws, and end-to-end import/export processes.
- Proven experience coordinating and managing relationships with customs brokers and service providers.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders.
- This is an on-site position, Monday to Friday, located in Hermosillo.

- Experience leading or significantly contributing to Customs system rollouts, implementations, or major enhancement projects.
- Prior involvement in designing, testing, or deploying customs software solutions, including defining business requirements.
- Proven ability to develop and utilize data analytics tools to identify process improvement opportunities and generate actionable insights from large, complex customs datasets.
- Experience in defining, developing, and reporting on Customs performance metrics, ensuring data integrity and actionable insights.
