Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Responsible for coordinating the day-to-day cost accounting function including the development, installation and monitoring of cost control, systems, and the interpretation and dissemination of cost accounting, information to management.
- Develops and directs the preparation of reports to compare actual results to plan.
- Directs the collection and presentation of cost data analyses and reports for government and other programs pertaining to costs and production activities.
- These include variable and standard costs, variances, and inventory valuation to provide comprehensive information for management decisions.
- Help to improve the accuracy of bill of materials in the system
- Audit cycle count processes
- Annual cost roll, determination of rates and update of material costs
- Revision of P&L variations and discrepancies
- Standard costing: Labor, Voh and FOH
- Costing in SAP system, views and transactions
- Analysis of absorption, freight and expenses reclassification.
- Materials hedge reports
- Calculation of E&O
- Audit costing reports
- PPV analysis
- Inventory discrepancies and analysis
- Ensures the reconciliation and analysis of related balance sheet accounts, inventory accounts ledgers, and journals.
- Directs the development and implementation of new and revised costs reporting and analysis systems, policies, and procedures.
- Responsible for many aspects of personnel management budget and resource management for assigned team.
- May participate in the most complex cost accounting projects.
Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires at least 5 years related experience. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
Requires broad knowledge of cost control systems and related cost accounting functions and includes the preparation of strategic recommendations to management. Must have advanced knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices and analytical methodologies. Ability to lead and manage a team. Must have excellent written and verbal skills. Requires expertise with Microsoft Office.
