Sr Data Analyst

As a Senior Associate, reporting to the AR team, you will be trusted to drive insights and controls behind the Order-to-Cash engine. This role owns AR reporting and analytics, designs and monitors controls, and translates complex data into clear recommendations for senior leaders. As the AR subject matter expert, you will partner across Finance, Billing, Collections, Sales, and IT to reduce risk, and scale best-in-class AR operations and collections.
In this role, a typical day will include:
Key Responsibilities
- Insights and analytics: Build and maintain AR dashboards and scorecards (aging, DSO, CEI, bad debt, disputes); perform trend and variance analyses to surface drivers and opportunities.
- Executive-ready storytelling: Synthesize complex findings into concise narratives and visuals; present actionable recommendations to senior leaders and operators on a consistent cadence.
- Controls and compliance: Design, document, and test AR-related controls (SOX and operational); ensure policy adherence across credit, collections, cash application, and write-offs.
- Data stewardship: Define AR data standards, mappings, and reconciliation routines across ERP, CRM, and data warehouse; ensure single-source-of-truth metrics and audit-ready data lineage.
- Stakeholder partnership: Align with Credit, Billing, Collections, Revenue Accounting, Sales Ops, and Customer Success to drive resolutions on disputes, terms, and systemic root causes.
- Automation and scaling: Drive the implementation of new reporting software in collaboration with IT configuration, and UAT.
- Ad hoc investigations: Lead deep dives on late-stage aging, high-risk accounts, and write-off trends; prepare board/leadership materials for special topics and quarterly business reviews.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
Key Requirements/Minimum Requirements
- Experience: 3-6+ years in AR/O2C, FP&A, or Finance Operations with. Experience with AWS Quicksight is preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA/CPA/CA or equivalent is a plus.
- Domain expertise: Proven ownership of AR processes (billing, credit, collections, cash application, disputes) in a scaled environment.
- Data proficiency: AWS QuickSight, Tableau, Advanced Excel and SQL; strong BI experience (Power BI/Tableau/Looker) and comfort with large, messy datasets.
- Systems exposure: AWS QuckSight, ERP proficiency (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, Oracle, NetSuite) and familiarity with AR platforms would be ideal (e.g., HighRadius, Billtrust).
- Strong Fluency in English (certification ideally)
