Role Overview
Resumen / Objetivo de la Posición:
The Process Engineering Coordinator is responsible for executing the engineering department's strategy in relation to the manufacturing and assembly processes under the procedures established in IMI's quality system and lean manufacturing philosophy, to contribute to the achievement of the company's objectives, as well as to ensure that technical support is provided to internal and external customers.
Work Environment: This role is based in Queretaro, Mexico, On site.
Key Responsibilities
· Establish and guarantee the correct execution of the manufacturing and assembly processes to ensure compliance with internal and external customer requirements.
· Evaluate and make available proposals for engineering changes and requests for deviations and engineering changes, in order to guarantee product quality and process safety.
· Establish, in conjunction with the quality department, the necessary controls and frequency for the monitoring of the process, as well as the generation of corrective actions through the use of problem-solving tools.
· Evaluate and make available requests for new and updated Manufacturing and Assembly Process Routes for registration in JDE.
· Supervise the correct implementation of cost reduction projects derived from engineering changes in the Manufacturing and Assembly processes.
· Supervise the activities of the Process Engineers in charge for the achievement of the department's and strategic objectives and ensure the result of the development plans.
· Promote, improve and develop process improvement strategies using Lean tools as a basis (5S, standard work, Poka-Yoke, Kanban, SMED, TPM, etc.), and other programs that lead to significant improvements in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost and customer satisfaction and must be aligned with corporate requirements.
· Contribute to the achievement of the organization's environmental objectives through the improvement of processes, ensuring correct compliance with procedures and internal environmental policy, as well as with the legal and governmental requirements that apply in environmental matters.
· Lead the audits of Process Routes, in support of the updating of data that contribute to the study of profitability of the products and based on alignment and frequencies dictated by internal control.
· Lead a cross-functional team in the process of selecting, onboarding, hiring, monitoring and evaluating suppliers for the design and/or manufacture of world-class assembly cells, for the new products assigned to IMI Norgren, as well as for the capacity and quality improvements of assembly cells already installed.
· Contribute to the achievement of the organization's environmental objectives through proper compliance with internal environmental procedures and policy, as well as the legal and governmental requirements that apply in environmental matters.
Critical Competencies for Success
Education and Experience:
1. Required Education: Mechanical, Mechatronic or Industrial Engineering
2. 7 years of experience in manufacturing process management, geometric tolerance management and drawing interpretation, technical support to internal and external customers.
3. Knowledge of Core tools (AMEF, SPC, MSA, APQP, PPAP)
4. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools (SMED, Line Balancing, Standardized Work, Kaizen, etc.).
5. Knowledge of Problem Solving Tools (8D, QRQC, 5 Why?, Ishikawa)
6. 3 years leading teams and/or managing personnel
