We are seeking a talented and dedicated individual to join CEVA A&O Mexico as an Ocean Operations Supervisor within our Ocean Operations department. This pivotal role is based in Alcaldía Benito Juárez, Mexico , and is crucial to our operational success, ensuring that our ocean logistics processes run smoothly and efficiently.
About the Role
As an Ocean Operations Supervisor, you will be at the forefront of managing ocean freight operations, overseeing daily activities, and ensuring that our services meet the highest quality standards. Your leadership will guide a team of professionals while optimising operational workflows, managing client relationships, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. This position demands a proactive approach, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate ocean logistics operations to ensure timely and efficient handling of shipments.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, carriers, and partners to facilitate smooth operations.
Monitor performance metrics, providing analysis and feedback to the team for continuous improvement.
Lead, mentor, and develop the ocean operations team, promoting a culture of collaboration and accountability.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies, maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations, solve problems, and deliver optimal solutions.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, ensuring effective resource allocation.
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements to enhance operational efficiency.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a strong background in logistics or supply chain management, particularly in ocean freight operations. You should possess excellent leadership skills, demonstrated ability in team management, and a keen analytical mindset. Furthermore, exceptional communication skills and the ability to foster relationships across diverse stakeholders are essential.
Qualifications
Proven experience in ocean freight logistics or operations, with a supervisory or managerial background.
Strong knowledge of shipping regulations, freight forwarding, and international trade.
Ability to analyse data and generate reports for strategic decision-making.
Proficiency in using logistics management software and tools.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
