Role Overview:
Provides leadership and responsability for design aspects of short-terms program direction growth and profitability. Supervises and controls the interactions and desicions required to achieve strategic and operating plans through funtional implementations. Drive integration between different functions involved in Product Development, in order to deliver results for the assigned site, so that it is recognized as Design Center to provide specilized to out internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering required Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
- Advanced degree required (Master of Bussiness preferred)
- 10+years relevant industry experience including
- 5 years of experience managing functional groups directly
- Working knowledge of FEA, FMEA, industry and costing standards
- Establish strategies to manage resources, equipment and facilities to ensure work procedures and results to control costs, budget, and schedules for related functions.
- Ability to build and mentor a diverse team of engineering professionals into a cohesive engineering unit.
- Assure Functional Leaders maintain standar operating procedures including, but not limited to, new process and product development and APQP.
- Oversees key projects, porcesses and preformance reporting. Provides Leadership towards continuous improvement or enhacement data for analysis and documentations systems.
- Plan, assign, and direct the activities of NPD Process and product engineers, sustaining process and product engineers, laboratory engineers/technicians, tool designers, technicians, drafters, and support personnel within the department.
- Provide scientific and administrative guidance to customer-both external and internal-by consulting with process manager(s) and across-funtions engineers regarding engineering concepts, feasibility, and procedures.
- Reviews analyzes new process and product proposals submitted to determine if benefits derived and possible applications justified expenditures and or investment.
- Works with manufacturing, supply chain and quality management to review and monitor quality and process imprivements to mitigate risk associated with process and product liability aspects and legal ramifications.
- Lead the site and colaborate with global efforts, focused in IMI market competitiveness, through VAVE initiatives as well as both product and process (when applicable and available) benchmarking efforts.
- Develop professional assessment tools and initiatives for the engineering skills, to be updated with product, design, validation & processengineering practices. Lead training and development plans to enhance such skills according to assessment results.

- Ability to desgin alternatives with the engineering group, using data and analysis.
- Project Management and leadership skills are expected
- Must have the ability to direct and coach individuals.
- Ability to assist in solving both product and Process design & development problems ans provide leadership and guidance to engineering team
- Positively communicate with customers internally and externally to adress their needs promptly and follow through on commitments
- Develop and present information to customers and/or technical leaders.
- Ability to negotiate ans resolve any ambigous situation regarding resource, process
- Direct Experience leading an operational team with a P&L preferred
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook).
- Some demostrated experince with an ERP/PLM System (SAP,JDE,etc)
- Introductory level proficiency in Solid Works
