Your New Role:
The Senior Performance Test Engineer will collaborate closely with engineers, developers, architects, and project managers to implement robust performance testing strategies. Expertise in performance testing methodologies will shape the way our applications are delivered to end users, ensuring a seamless user experience under heavy loads.
Your New Accountabilities:
Test Planning and Execution
- Work with business analysts and developers to define the scope, objectives, and acceptance criteria for performance testing projects. Develop performance test plans and test cases based on project requirements.
- Create, enhance, and maintain performance test scripts using Micro Focus LoadRunner for various technologies (Web, API, client-server, database, etc.).
- Analyze business requirements and production usage patterns to develop realistic workload models and performance benchmarks.
- Execute load, stress, endurance, and scalability tests using LoadRunner Controller. Monitor system behavior under load and capture critical performance metrics.
Performance Analysis and Reporting
- Collect and analyze data from LoadRunner, as well as server and application monitoring tools, to identify bottlenecks, memory leaks, and areas of improvement.
- Prepare detailed performance test reports highlighting system behavior, bottlenecks, and recommendations for optimization. Present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate issues, propose solutions, and verify resolution of identified performance concerns.
Continuous Improvement
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with emerging trends and best practices in performance testing. Contribute to the development and refinement of internal performance testing frameworks and methodologies.
Qualifications & Experiences:
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in performance testing, with a strong focus on LoadRunner.
- Proven experience in scripting complex test scenarios using LoadRunner VuGen (Web/HTTP, TruClient, Web Services, and other protocols).
- Proven experience in scripting and performance testing REST APIs.
- Hands-on experience with LoadRunner Controller, Analysis, and monitoring tools.
- Deep understanding of performance testing concepts such as load, stress, endurance, scalability, and capacity testing.
- Solid knowledge of system architecture (web, app, and database tiers), network protocols, and cloud infrastructure.
- Familiarity with server performance monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, Grafana) and APM solutions.
- Proficiency in analyzing results, identifying root causes, and providing actionable recommendations.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Background in testing applications hosted on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices architectures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven experience presenting findings to both technical and business audiences.
Additional Qualifications are a plus, but not required:
- Familiarity with performance testing and scripting SAP GUI/Web is a plus.
- Experience working in a national or global company
- Experience with setting up, administrating, and maintaining LoadRunner tools.
