Responsibilities:
The Opportunity

R&D Life Sciences Manager is responsible for providing guidance and integrating nutritional science into product development, innovation and portfolio transformation. The role also involves integrating consumer needs, preferences and regional health trends to propose compelling claims and scientific communication working with cross-functional teams for Cookies and Crackers, Energy and Sports drinks categories.
This position will lead and strengthen the Life Sciences and External Engagement strategy across LATAM—fostering strategic partnerships, advancing scientific credibility, and supporting the company’s commitment to health and wellness in the region.


Your Impact


As R&D Life Sciences Manager your scope would consist of:


  • Support from a Life Science perspective all innovation and portfolio transformation projects for C&C and Beverages in Mexico and CARICAM.
  • Provide guidance to product development teams to ensure alignment with pep+ goals by integrating nutritional guidelines into innovation and reformulation processes and product design.
  • Contribute to the development of External Engagement HCP/KOL strategy and lead the deployment in Mexico and CARICAM developing integrated external plans and aligning stakeholders across various business functions (R&D, Corporate Affairs, Communications, Consumer Insights, Marketing, Innovation).
Build key synergies externally with health and nutrition stakeholders to collaborate in relevant projects for the company.
  • Lead and guide one life sciences scientist (direct report) on technical and professional growth and provide development support to junior scientists.
  • Identify growth opportunities and create value propositions based on nutrition science and consumer trends ensuring internal alignment and business impact.
  • Budget management.
Qualifications:
Who Are We Looking For?

Education
  • Bachelor degree in Nutrition or health/Sports related fields with food/beverage sports science and regulatory knowledge.
  • Master in Sciences, Marketing, Business or similar.

Experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in food and beverages, sports nutrition industry or pharmaceutical is needed, supporting business and R&D objectives.
  • Skilled in interpreting and applying scientific research/consumer insights to support claims.
  • Solid analytical and critical thinking.
  • Data driven with experience working with epidemiological, consumer insights and market trends.
  • Excellent oral and written communication translating scientific concepts.
  • Experience working with External partnerships to support innovation and brand nutrition communication.
  • Project and people management skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced English language skills
