As a Quality Engineer NPD, you will provide quality engineering support throughout the New Product Development (NPD) process to ensure successful product launches. You will work closely with development teams to guarantee effective design, risk management, and transfer of products to manufacturing. This role includes leading quality assurance efforts, applying problem-solving tools, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
About the Job:
- Provide direction and oversight of NPD quality activities for assigned projects.
- Review and contribute to design verification and validation protocols and reports.
- Ensure compliance with customer, product, and regulatory requirements and standards.
- Support the development of manufacturing and design documentation including drawings, material specifications, inspection, and production procedures.
- Collaborate in the supplier selection process and implement appropriate supplier quality controls.
- Lead “line readiness” activities and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) documentation as required by customers.
- Conduct and support root cause investigations and evaluate corrective actions.
- Lead Risk Management activities: write plans/reports, facilitate risk assessments.
- Integrate quality by design principles with Program Management teams.
- Use quality tools such as Six Sigma and Lean to support product/process improvement.
- Provide feedback from the quality system and customer complaints for post-release design enhancements.
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering.
- 3–5 years of experience in quality assurance or product development.
- Experience in ISO 9001, ideally IATF 16949 environments.
- Solid knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and the Core Tools of the automotive industry, including:
- FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
- MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis)
- SPC (Statistical Process Control)
- PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T fundamentals.
- Proficient in writing standard operating procedures and quality plans.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Experience with design validation and verification documentation.
- Self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Intermediate English level (written and spoken).
