SUMMARY: The Production Coordinator owns the process of coordinating activities related to production scheduling, resource allocation, workflow optimization, and material availability to ensure a correct production operations. This position requires the ability to manage production timelines, manage labor loading and capacity planning, collaborate with other departments and optimize manufacturing processes. The role involves working with production schedules, production plans, and performance metrics, requiring proactive problem solving and decision making skills. Additionally the Production Coordinator verify materials, DL resources and production orders are aligned to maximize efficiency and reduce downtime, interacting with other departments as: finance, engineering, quality, maintenance and top management. The role includes follow up KPIs, analyzing production constraints and supporting lean manufacturing improvement initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate daily production scheduling to align with manufacturing targets and customer demand.
- Ensure material availability and resource allocation to prevent bottlenecks.
- Track production performance metrics and KPIs, identifying areas for improvement.
- Work closely with production supervisors and/or team leaders to optimize process implementation tasks.
- Monitor labor capacity and balancing work stations, making recommendations to improve efficiency and reduce death times.
- Support cost reduction initiatives related to production efficiency and waste reduction.
- Optimize production process and work closely with planning department to a better understanding of customer requirements and achieve business objectives.
- Collaborate with warehouse, logistics, and procurement teams to maintain production continuity.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards on production floor.
- Analyze production constraints and develop solutions for improved throughput.
QUALIFICATIONS and COMPETENCIES:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3-5 years of experience in production planning, manufacturing coordination, engineering as a plus.
- Strong knowledge of production workflows and scheduling tools (MRP systems, Excel).
- Experienced in managing tasks efficiently in dynamic environments.
- Excellent communication skills in multilevel organization.
- Experience optimizing manufacturing efficiency and reducing cycle times.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and delegate tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data trends and improve operational performance.
- Spanish and English proficiency for effective communication in cross-border operations.
