As a Maintenance Engineer, you will coordinate and lead maintenance technicians to ensure optimum performance and reliability of our production equipment. You will play a key role in diagnosing and solving complex technical issues, supporting machine commissioning, and driving continuous improvement in maintenance processes. Your expertise will directly impact production efficiency and product quality within a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Our Team
You will be part of the OSBU division at Molex El Salto, reporting to the Equipment, Maintenance & Automation Superintendent. Our team is dedicated to maintaining high standards of equipment performance and safety while collaborating closely with cross-functional groups including production, quality, and supply chain.
What You Will Do
- Coordinate and oversee maintenance technician activities during shifts, ensuring timely resolution of equipment issues.
- Lead root cause analysis and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and improve machine reliability.
- Support installation, commissioning, and release of new machinery in collaboration with design and production teams.
- Participate actively in production floor meetings, contributing maintenance insights to enhance operations.
- Perform weekly audits of maintenance activities to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards (ISO 9000).
- Manage and optimize inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies, including supplier evaluation and development.
- Implement and maintain preventive maintenance plans to maximize equipment uptime.
- Integrate and manage vision systems and motion control components such as stepper and servomotors.
- Provide technical training and mentorship to technicians, fostering knowledge sharing and team capability growth.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Electromechanical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in automation or maintenance roles, preferably within an electronic or automated manufacturing environment.
- Solid problem-solving skills and experience conducting root cause analyses (e.g., 5W2H, Ishikawa).
- Competent in technical English for effective communication with suppliers and reading technical documentation.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to teach and mentor others.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Background in automation systems and equipment.
- Experience with GR&R and CPK analyses in machinery release processes.
- Programming experience in C++ or Python.
- Green Belt certification or similar continuous improvement training.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical parts design to improve machine efficiency.
