Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Junior Staff Accountant to join our growing, cross-border finance team. While this position is primarily remote, the ideal candidate will be based within 50 miles of Mexico City to attend occasional in-person meetings and team gatherings.
This role will focus primarily on core accounting functions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end journal entries, with a small portion of time supporting light administrative and operational tasks to keep our finance workflow running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Primary – Accounting Tasks
- Process vendor invoices and prepare payment runs (Accounts Payable).
- Create and send invoices to US-based clients; track collections (Accounts Receivable).
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Record journal entries and assist with the month-end close process.
- Maintain organized, audit-compliant financial documentation.
- Support the US-based finance team with ad hoc financial reports and reconciliations.
Secondary – Administrative & Operational Support (Approx. 10–15% of role)
- Handle physical mail, scanning, and document management.
- Organize and digitize receipts, vendor forms, and employee files.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors.
- Assist with office supply purchases or coworking space logistics.
- Perform general clerical duties for the finance and accounting team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of accounting experience (preferably with an international or US-based company).
- Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formatting).
- Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Intermediate to advanced English communication skills (written and verbal).
- Must reside within 50 miles of Mexico City and be available for occasional in-person meetings.
Nice-to-Haves
- Familiarity with Trello, ClickUp, Notion, or similar workflow/project management tools.
- Prior experience supporting a US-based company or working in a multinational environment.

Pay: $33,500.00 - $41,000.00 per month
