ISP Cleaning Staff Role Profile
Purpose of Role
The purpose of the Cleaning Staff role is to ensure a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for all building occupants. This includes performing regular cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitizing, and waste disposal, in accordance with established health and safety standards. Cleaning staff play a vital role in maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of facilities, helping to create a welcoming and healthy atmosphere for students, staff, visitors, or customers.

Key Responsibilities
Daily Cleaning Tasks
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors.
- Dust and wipe down surfaces, furniture, windowsills, and fixtures.
- Empty and sanitize waste bins and replace liners.
Restroom Maintenance
- Clean and disinfect toilets, sinks, and restroom fixtures.
- Replenish supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels.
- Ensure restrooms are hygienic and odor-free.
Surface Disinfection
- Sanitize high-touch surfaces (e.g., door handles, light switches, handrails) regularly to prevent the spread of germs.
Specialized Cleaning
- Perform deep-cleaning tasks as scheduled (e.g., carpets, windows, floor stripping and waxing).
- Handle spills and accidents promptly and safely.
Supplies and Equipment
- Use cleaning equipment properly and report any malfunctions or needed repairs.
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies as needed.
Health and Safety Compliance
- Follow proper procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety protocols.
Facility Appearance
- Maintain neat and organized storage areas.
- Report maintenance issues (e.g., leaks, broken fixtures) to the supervisor promptly.Team Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with other staff members and follow daily task lists or supervisor instructions.

Qualifications:
No formal education required, though basic literacy and numeracy are helpful.
Experience:
Previous experience in cleaning or janitorial work is preferred, especially in school, childcare, or similar environments.
