Purpose of the job:
The Accounting Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supervising accounting activities within the manufacturing and corporate finance scope, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting. This role manages the preparation and reconciliation of P&L and balance sheet accounts, supports internal controls, and contributes to process simplification to reduce manual work and minimize errors. The Accounting Coordinator oversees a team of two, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in line with IFRS and BIC Group requirements.
Key accountabilities:
- Coordinate accounting activities and monthly reconciliations for assigned entities and balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements (“Actuals” P&L and Balance Sheet) in accordance with corporate guidelines and deadlines.
- Guarantee compliance with internal controls, IFRS standards, and tax requirements.
- Supervise, guide, and develop a team of two accounting professionals, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
- Provide support for internal and external audits, including monthly, quarterly, and annual requirements.
- Lead process simplification initiatives to reduce manual work, improve accuracy, and increase efficiency.
- Ensure timely reporting for multiple legal entities with accuracy and consistency.
- Promote strong teamwork and alignment within the finance community.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 2–4 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or corporate environment
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards
- Experience supporting audits (internal/external)
- Intermediate to advanced English proficiency
- Proficiency in JD Edwards, Excel, Office tools, ERP or HCM systems
- Familiarity with Mexican tax law
- IFRS certification desirable
