Job Description

Primary Function of Position

This analyst position is responsible for supporting trade compliance, regulated materials, sustainability, and Company compliance programs for similar external laws or market requirements necessary to maintain continuity of direct materials supply. Primary activities include:

  • Maintaining a successful program to support product level country of origin certifications, source of supply mapping intelligence, regulated materials declarations and intelligence with respect to materials sourced by the Company as well as other related initiative.
  • Position will also seek to refine and implement improved data collection, organization and analytical structures that enable improved reporting and process efficiencies. Success in this role requires identifying gaps and opportunities to properly scale business processes as well as reporting methods.
  • Additionally, the position will draw on strengths in collaboration and creating relationships with key internal stakeholders (including Strategic Sourcing, Global Procurement and external suppliers) to execute primary roles and responsibilities.

Essential Job Duties

  • Executes key reporting and data management processes related to trade compliance, regulated materials, sustainability, and reporting programs for purchased components and finished goods procured by the Company.
  • Drive reporting, develop performance indicators and provide data-driven insights to critical stakeholders based on business process and compliance reporting requirements.
  • Supports and may lead the development of supporting business processes that balance regulation/legal requirements for compliance, the Company’s needs and demands expected on suppliers.
  • Evaluate manual processes and provide recommendations for potential automation.
  • Develop predictive insights and integrate these insights into standard business processes.
  • Support critical “ad-hoc” initiatives from the business as assigned.
  • Works in conjunction with Strategic Sourcing to support supplier communications specific to regulated programs and compliance reporting requirements.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • 2 years of proven experience as Trade Compliance Analyst.
  • Strong analytical capacity and data processing capabilities.
  • Project management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into operational requirements
  • Purchasing experience for Direct Materials.
  • Significant experience with core business systems includes SAP, Agile, Ivalua, Assent as well as MS Office suite.
  • Proven ability to lead, influence, and work well at all levels of an organization and in a cross-functional/matrixed environment.
  • Strong relationship building, customer focus, and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (fully bilingual) and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of internal customers and suppliers.


Required Education and Training

  • BS degree and 1-3 years of supply chain experience in a regulated industry manufacturing environment (medical device preferred). Master’s degree preferred.
  • Excel Advanced skills are preferred.


Working Conditions

~10% travel to both domestic and international operating sites and suppliers


Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience in the medical device industry preferred.
  • Subject-matter knowledge in material planning and demand forecasting. Includes thorough knowledge of bill of material construction, material master attributes, source list, and information record attributes in SAP as well as Agile.
  • Understanding of key trade compliance (tariffs, border controls for goods, etc.) and Regulated Materials (RoHS, Conflict Minerals, etc.) preferred.
  • Certifications: CPSM, CPIM, and/or PMP desired
