The Opportunity
This position works out of our Mexico City location in the Structural Heart División: Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life through the design and provision of device and management solutions for the treatment of structural heart disease.
The job purpose and scope of the Structural Heart Sr Key Account Executive is to promote and support Abbott Structural Heart through the development of strategies and plans to meet or exceed sales goals for assigned territory. The Sr Key Account Executive exhibits clinical competency, ensures patient centric focus, maintains high standards on clinical outcomes, effectively manages resource allocation, and builds strong relationships and collaborates with healthcare providers and administrative executives in therapy awareness efforts to gain mindshare. The Sr Key Account Executive navigates the hospital environment, influences buying decisions and negotiates contracts. Stays informed on market dynamics and competitive activity relative to therapy, and continually identifies and evaluates market opportunities to strengthen and grow the Abbott footprint.
What You’ll Do
- Development and implementation of sales strategies and actions plans (weekly, monthly, quarterly) based on sales territory analysis to meet or exceed sales goals for assigned territory.
- Evaluate market opportunities with Country Manager and inform of market dynamics, competitive activity and any issues that arise.
- Manage distributor plans and performance for the assigned territory.
- Provide clinical case coverage, technical support, in-services programs and training to support physicians and staff; effectively direct physician behavior in a clinical setting.
- Collaborate with diverse constituents and physicians within the center (interventionalists, echo cardiologists, sonographers, cardiac anesthesiologists, CV surgeons, catheter lab management, etc.) to generate referrals, procedure scheduling, and ensure good clinical outcomes for patients.
- Meet with existing and potential clients along with distributor staff to identify clinical needs, goals, and constraints related to patient care, and provide creative and feasible solutions. Build relationships in various hospital departments (Echo Lab, valve coordinator, surgery, purchasing, VP of cardiology, Hospital Administrator, etc.) and identify key decision makers to facilitate future sales.
- Maintain focus, flexibility and agility while faced with challenging organizational objectives and ever-changing environment.
- Remain compliant in ever-changing regulatory environment (internal and external); responding to internal and external compliance demands.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor or college degree or equivalent clinical degree.
- Biomedical Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Nurse, or healthcare related degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- BS/BA or equivalent experience required. Degree in Life Sciences or Marketing preferred.
- 3 – 7+ years of related work experience required, medical industry preferred. Strong sales and clinical orientation, experience with products for use in interventional cardiology and cardiac surgery, familiarity with echo cardiology and other indirect imaging, also strongly preferred.
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills in Spanish and English (advanced).
- MS Office: Excel, Word, Power Point.
- Driver license.
