Sr Advanced Test Engineer in the SIL Mexicali Mechanical Test (MT) group is an experienced professional in test projects/programs execution in the aerospace industry who can take independent action on technical matters associated with either the lead of Program Management activities for test solution implementations, test bench preparation process or test execution processes. Represents a role model on applying Mechanical Test organization's processes and tools as well as demonstrating Honeywell behaviors, capable to cover the Cost Account Manager role and keeps close contact and effective communication with other Test Leads, Program Management, and internal customers. Responsible to manage the execution of projects associated with test solutions and test programs assuring proper load demand distribution and coordination of activities related to design reviews, Control Change reviews, test bench preparation, Facility Systems commissioning and Test Solution release processes. Sr Adv Test Engineer leads the team and perform proper task coordination, evaluate risks and opportunities, defends/able to explain technical solutions in multi-cultural teams, and mentor others with less experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage scope, schedule, and budget for the assigned Test Program(s) or Work Package(s), identifying test requirements, executing test case definition and validation, identifying and documenting risks and opportunities that support project execution, creating the resource analysis and planning test operations
- Monitor engineering progress against budget and forecasted schedule for the assigned test projects
- Create Test Documentation (Test Procedures, Test Instructions, Instrumentation list, Piping and Instrumentation Diagram, Controls Architecture) in preparation for Test Solution commissioning and correlation process
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting standards are maintained throughout the assigned projects
- Coordinate periodic reviews with management on project status, project metrics and significant trends and changes of approved projects
- Coordinate Design Review processes of the Mechanical – electro-pneumatic, pneumatic and hydraulic test solutions/Lab Facilities design and test software development processes per Aerospace Engineering Process (AEP)
- Actively coordinates the design, implementation, commissioning, and maintenance of complex electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, electro-pneumatic and control test facilities infrastructure required for aircraft components test and systems/subsystem integration test programs
- Supports maturity development of less experienced test engineers on key strategic areas by providing training, mentoring and coaching
You Must Have
- B.S. degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Cybernetics, Engineering.
- 5+ years work experience in related engineering field.
