What You Will Do:
- Oversee the activities of a software quality assurance function.
- Develop and implement quality standards for products.
- Oversee the development and execution of software test plans and analysis of test results.
- Lead and develop teams ensuring the efficient operation of the function.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients.
- Travel worldwide as per the program/company needs.
- Direct the development, maintenance, and execution of test cases, tools, and documentation.
- Lead QA strategy development for AAA or multiple smaller games.
- Strategically understand the timing and rationale for test design choices.
- Use a cross-product line perspective and hold team members accountable for a complete QA design.
- Develop elegant test designs that identify and eradicate testability issues over multiple product releases.
- Drive test design reviews across the team.
- Optimize and reuse tests for maximum efficiency, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).
- Use customer knowledge to guide integration testing across a product line.
- Ensure that the team provides accurate time estimates, sets work priorities, and makes project changes and trade-offs to have a successful release.
- Define the testing lifecycle for the game or product line and lead lifecycle improvements over successive releases.
- Identify and resolve conflicts in the team, assign tasks to maximize the team’s efficiency, and keep the team focused on their current priorities.
- Engage and maintain consistent communication with all relevant parties until issues are resolved.
- Promote a positive team environment by modeling behavior that promotes good morale.
To Be Successful You Will Have:
- University degree in Programming, Design, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience leading testing of multiple games, released across diverse platforms.
- Experience leading and developing teams.
- Experience with automation frameworks, tools, and scripting.
- Practical knowledge of test case design, technical design, and implementation, test quality and validation, and experience in product lifecycle management and shipping products.
- Experience building ROI and cost justifications for executive level presentation.
- Experience in team management.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to complete disparate projects on schedule.
- Proficiency in Testing and/or Quality Assurance Best Practices.
- Ability to effectively communicate in a variety of formal and informal settings and formats: one-on-one, small and large groups, as well as in email and product-related documentation.
- Exposure to game localization and LQA testing a plus.
- Exposure to audio engineering processes a plus.
- Exposure to web services and related security, interdependence, capacity, monitoring, and BCP testing a plus.
