DESCRIPTION

Our MXCF Operations network is seeking a strategic leader to join our team as Quality and CI Manager at our IXD facility. In this role, you will lead the site's quality management system, learning programs, and continuous improvement initiatives while developing a team of managers and supervisors across multiple departments.

You will be responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive quality and training strategies that drive operational excellence. This includes overseeing quality standards, developing learning programs, and leading continuous improvement projects that impact the entire facility. Your scope includes managing the Quality, Learning, and CI departments while ensuring alignment with network standards and best practices.

This position represents a critical leadership role in shaping our site's quality culture and developing future capabilities. You will work closely with senior leadership to drive strategic initiatives, optimize processes, and ensure the highest standards of operational excellence across all departments.

Key job responsibilities
  • Lead and develop Quality, Learning, and CI departments through effective management of Area Managers.
  • Lead change management initiatives for new process implementations.
  • Drive site-wide quality standards and metrics while ensuring compliance with network requirements.
  • Design and execute comprehensive training strategies to support operational excellence.
  • Implement and oversee continuous improvement initiatives across all departments.
  • Develop data-driven action plans to address quality defects and process gaps.
  • Partner with Operations leadership to optimize processes and drive efficiency.
  • Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives for complex operational issues.
  • Create and maintain quality management systems and learning programs.
  • Manage budget and resources for Quality, Learning, and CI departments.
  • Drive innovation and best practice sharing across the network.
  • Ensure standardization of quality processes and training methodologies.
  • Analyze complex data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Build strategic partnerships with regional Quality and Learning teams.

A day in the life
  • Lead department reviews focusing on quality metrics, training effectiveness, and CI projects
  • Direct quality managers and learning managers in program execution and development
  • Conduct strategic assessments of quality systems and training programs
  • Drive high-impact improvement projects affecting multiple operational areas
  • Oversee development and implementation of new training modules and quality processes
  • Lead quality strategy sessions with senior site leadership
  • Manage cross-functional projects related to quality improvement and operational excellence
  • Collaborate with regional teams on quality standards and learning initiatives

You'll be responsible for building a culture of quality and continuous improvement while developing capabilities that drive operational excellence across the network.

About the team
We're launching an exciting new operation in Mexico - our first Inbound Cross Dock (IXD) in the country! This represents a significant milestone in Amazon's growth in Latin America, and you'll be part of the founding team that will shape the future of our upstream operations in the region.

This team will play a crucial role in Amazon's supply chain network, managing the efficient flow of vendor and sellers shipments to multiple Fulfillment Centers across Mexico. We're focused on operational excellence, innovative solutions, and continuous improvement as we establish this key node in our logistics network that will streamline the receiving and distribution process of the inventory products.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of employee and performance management experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
  • 6+ years of management experience leading teams in quality, training, or continuous improvement roles
  • Demonstrated expertise in quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen)
  • Strong track record implementing large-scale quality or training programs
  • Advanced data analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with performance management and team development
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and drive process improvements
  • Strong business acumen and strategic planning capabilities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • English proficiency

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in related field
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • 8+ years in manufacturing, logistics, or operations environments
  • Experience with adult learning principles and training program development
  • Track record of implementing successful CI initiatives in large operations
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and quality tools
  • Advanced project management skills
