As a Lead Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in developing and deploying data-driven solutions that optimize our manufacturing processes, enhance operational efficiency, and support strategic decision-making. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze complex datasets, build predictive models, and implement scalable data solutions.Beyond technical contributions, you will also take on a hands-on leadership role—building AI and ML models, mentoring team members, guiding technical architecture, and fostering collaboration across the business.
Responsibilities:
- Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze large datasets and derive actionable insights.
- Design, develop, and deploy data models and algorithms primarily using Databricks, and also Microsoft Azure tools such as Azure ML, and Synapse Analytics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and operations, to understand business challenges and develop data-driven solutions.
- Fine tune and distill LLM models for Vertical AI product use cases.
- Implement predictive and prescriptive analytics models to optimize various parts of company operations, such as production, supply chain, and logistics.
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Visualize data insights using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in data science, machine learning, and the transportation and logistics industry to ensure best practices are implemented.
- Provide technical leadership, setting standards for modeling, data quality, and best practices.
- Mentor and coach junior data scientists, fostering professional growth and encouraging knowledge sharing.
- Lead data projects end-to-end, including scoping, planning, and delivery.
- Drive alignment between business and technical stakeholders, ensuring data initiatives support strategic priorities.
Required Skills and Expertise:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in data science or analytics roles.
- Proficiency with data science tools and frameworks, including Python, R, and SQL.
- Expertise in Databricks
- Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning, and optimization techniques.
- Strong understanding of data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proven leadership abilities, including guiding teams, mentoring, and driving cross-functional initiatives.
Preferred Experience:
- Expertise in Microsoft Azure ecosystem, including Azure ML, Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, and Azure Data Factory.
- Experience in the transportation and logistics industry.
- Familiarity with IoT data and its integration into manufacturing and logistics systems.
- Knowledge of Big Data technologies like Hadoop and Spark.
- Strong communication skills to present findings and insights effectively to stakeholders.
- Experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects in fast-paced environments.
