BASIC OBJECTIVE
Has overall responsibility for the financial related matters of the Sanimex Vitreous Operation. Serve as the financial advisor to the business head and all key managers of the business. Execute the role in alignment with Kohler Co. policies, procedures and matrixed organization structure. Must maintain the highest level of integrity and candor to all key management levels of the business and Kohler Co.
As an overall statement, the goal of this position is to provide meaningful and timely information that is used to not only run but improve the business segment. This involves more than just plant expenses; it entails responsibility for the manufacturing cost for the business segment.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Advise the management of the Vitreous Mexico Plant from a financial perspective. Interpret and communicate in a straightforward manner.Analyze and quantify business activities and decisions in financial terms using Kohler Co. methodologies. Train and leverage support staff in these roles.
Knowledgeable of Kohler standard policies and procedures, ensuring all plant functions are aware of and operate to those standards.
Responsible for keeping the financial records in accordance with U.S. GAAP, tax, legal and Kohler Co. requirements.These requirements are to be consistently applied from period to period.Maintain the business Chart of Accounts in a manner compatible with Kohler Co. requirements.Maintain a timely documented balance sheet reconciliation process.
Responsible for coordinating the annual budgeting, standard cost maintenance and capital planning processes for the business and owner of the end product.Responsible for the monthly financial projection submission.Key player in the strategic planning and other business planning processes.
Responsible for the financial information reporting for the business including coordinating of the monthly accounting close.This reporting is to be in accordance with Kohler reporting formats and design attributes.The financial information is to be made available to the business and Kohler Co. management on a timely basis.Responsible for maintaining consistent presentation of information and comparative data.
Monitor and report monthly variances, spending, production, shipments, inventories, performance measures, etc. as required by Plant Management and Divisional Accounting and Operations functions.Analyze and report financial and operational performance to standards.
Work closely with materials associates at the plant to assure inventory control and turn rate objectives are met.Develop inventory control procedures as required, including the plant physical inventory and cycle counting.
Responsible for the development of supporting staff.This role includes providing knowledge transfer, coaching, constructive feedback and candid appraisal. Likewise, dealing with incompatible associates on a timely basis is also expected.
Responsible for maintaining and enhancing the system of internal controls for the business.Use feedback from internal and external auditors to identify internal control weaknesses.Maintain a perpetual inventory process for fixed assets.
Overall responsibility for enforcing the product costing methodologies for the business including standard cost processes where appropriate.The primary focus of these methodologies is to enhance understanding of margin and overall profitability of business segments.
Responsible for supervising the systems area for the business, also responsible for all office equipment including the telephone system, copy machines and fax machines. This is in coordination with the Sanimex Local IT department.
Responsible for the maintenance, integration and enhancement of the accounting systems of the business.
Provide Plant Management and supervision with recommendations on improving plant financial and operational performance and results.
Maintain the highest level of honesty and integrity.Expect and promote that same level of honesty and integrity in supporting staff and other plant functions.

EXTERNAL:
Occasional contact with vendors of business machines, office supplies, and printing services regarding quotations, purchases, payment of invoices, maintenance or repairs to telephone system.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with five years’ experience, preferably operating in a Mexican Maquiladora company.
Bilingual skills.
Experience in manufacturing accounting and operational analysis is preferred.
Supervisory experience and a strong systems aptitude is also preferred.
Experience in SAP financial reporting is also desirable.
Experience in operational analysis and manufacturing accounting is strongly preferred.
