Position Overview
An international company within the vehicle electronic parts industry, starting operations in Mexico, is seeking a Facility & Mechanical & Electrical Systems Manager to join its new plant in Querétaro. This role is critical to ensuring the plant’s infrastructure, utilities, and mechanical & electrical (M&E) systems are fully operational, compliant with regulations, and aligned with corporate Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) standards.
The selected candidate will leverage proven expertise from existing overseas operations to establish efficient facility systems, preventive maintenance programs, and vendor partnerships. This position requires proactive leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and strong technical knowledge to meet the company’s ambitious startup schedule.
Key Responsibilities
· Facility & M&E System Planning and Implementation – Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of plant infrastructure, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, compressed air, water treatment, and utility systems.
· Compliance and Safety Management – Ensure facilities and systems comply with local building codes, environmental regulations, fire protection standards, and corporate EHS requirements.
· Vendor and Contractor Coordination – Lead selection, negotiation, and performance management of contractors, suppliers, and service providers to secure quality outcomes, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.
· Preventive Maintenance Program Setup – Develop and implement preventive maintenance systems for M&E equipment and facility infrastructure to ensure operational reliability and reduce downtime.
· Cross-functional Support – Collaborate closely with production, engineering, procurement, EHS, and HR teams to align facility operations with production needs and startup milestones.
· Budget and Cost Control – Monitor and manage project expenditures, ensuring budget adherence while optimizing cost-performance ratios.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
· 8+ years of experience in facility management, mechanical & electrical systems, or industrial plant infrastructure within manufacturing (automotive/electronics industry experience highly desirable).
· Proven expertise in system design, commissioning, vendor management, and maintenance program development.
· Strong knowledge of Mexican building codes, environmental regulations, and EHS compliance standards.
· Hands-on experience in new plant setup, facility readiness, and utilities commissioning.
· Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
· Proficiency in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
