The Role

As our Chinese Market Development Intern, you'll be instrumental in launching our Mexico Chinese expat pilot program. This role combines content creation, cultural translation, market research, and hands-on WeChat channel management to establish Crimson's presence in an underserved but high-potential market segment. Some of the activities that this role entails are: 

- Identify and create comprehensive database of Chinese educational WeChat channels targeting expats in Mexico, including engagement metrics, contact information, and content focus

- Support outreach efforts to establish partnerships with channels for promotions.

- Create culturally authentic WeChat-native content that resonates with Chinese parenting values

- Monitor and respond to community engagement in culturally appropriate ways

- Translate and localize existing Crimson marketing materials for Chinese expat audiences

What Skills and Experience You'll Need:

Required Qualifications:

- Native Mandarin proficiency with excellent written Chinese communication skills

- Strong English writing and communication abilities

- Current undergraduate student or recent graduate from a competitive US institution

- Deep understanding of Chinese cultural values, particularly around education and family decision-making

- Hands-on experience with WeChat platform, including Official Accounts and community management

- Familiarity with Chinese social media landscape and content formats

Strongly Preferred:

- Experience with Chinese educational or admissions consulting content

- Knowledge of US university admissions processes

- Understanding of Mexican culture or experience living in Latin America

- Previous content creation or digital marketing experience

- Experience with influencer outreach or partnership development

Personal Qualities:

- Cultural sensitivity and ability to navigate multiple cultural contexts

- Strong attention to detail and project management skills

- Ability to work independently while collaborating with remote team

- Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort with ambiguity in new market development

- Passion for education and helping students achieve their goals

Internship Details

- Duration: 3-6 months (flexible based on performance and pilot program success)

- Time Commitment: 10 hours per week (flexible scheduling)

- Location: Remote with collaboration across Mexico and US time zones

- Start Date: August 2025 (immediate availability preferred)
