- Position Summary:
- The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing production materials, equipment, and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) supplies essential to business operations. This role involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods. The specialist will also support procurement-related assignments and contribute to inventory and cost optimization efforts.
- Responsibilities:
- Procure production, equipment, and MRO materials required for business operations.
- Analyze customer purchase orders for compliance with BHE or customer contract terms.
- Execute and analyze the Materials Requirement Plan (MRP) on a weekly basis.
- Monitor and verify the materials pipeline to ensure alignment with MRP requirements.
- Identify and resolve supply issues to maintain production continuity.
- Achieve inventory goals for assigned customers or commodities.
- Ensure material availability to support production schedules through MRP execution and coordination from receiving to production.
- Negotiate and execute supplier agreements to reduce procurement costs and liabilities, including freight and payment terms.
- Enforce corporate contracts and ensure supplier compliance with negotiated terms.
- Maintain data integrity to minimize material liability and optimize working capital.
- Monitor and improve supplier delivery and quality performance.
- Resolve recurring or critical issues using corrective action tools and collaboration with the corporate procurement team.
- Request and evaluate quotations for items meeting company specifications, ensuring price reasonableness.
- Analyze the impact of forecast and production schedule changes on component procurement.
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of +3ear of related experience; or an advanced degree with no experience; or equivalent relevant work experience.
- In-depth knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration abilities.
- Effective multitasking and time management skills; ability to handle additional responsibilities as needed.
- Highly organized with strong prioritization capabilities.

- Knowledge of purchasing practices, particularly in electronics or the ability to quickly learn procurement requirements for electronic components and related agreements.
- Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 1 year of related experience; or an advanced degree with no experience; or equivalent relevant work experience.
