Buhler is looking for a Welding Supervisor for our Manufactruing Operation Start-up located in Torreón, Coahuila.
Job Overview
The Welding Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing welding operations within the manufacturing department. This role ensures that welding activities, including MIG, TIG, and Spot Welding processes, are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards and production schedules.
The Welding Supervisor provides direction, training, and support to welders and related personnel, ensuring that work is performed according to specifications, drawings, and customer requirements. The position plays a key role in driving productivity, promoting continuous improvement, and maintaining a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability on the shop floor.
Required Knowledge, Experience, and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
- Certification, or equivalent experience in welding, manufacturing, or industrial processes.
- Minimum 5–10 years of hands-on welding experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong technical expertise in MIG, TIG, and Spot Welding processes.
- Experience with welding codes, inspection techniques, and quality assurance practices.
- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and safety regulations.
- Proficient in English language

Functions
- Supervise daily welding operations, ensuring alignment with production schedules and quality standards.
- Lead, train, and mentor welders on proper techniques for MIG, TIG, and Spot Welding.
- Monitor welding performance and inspect completed work for accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications.
- Plan and assign work tasks, ensuring optimal use of personnel, materials, and equipment.
- Enforce compliance with all safety regulations, protective equipment requirements, and company policies.
- Resolve technical issues, equipment malfunctions, and personnel concerns in a timely manner.
- Work closely with Quality Control to ensure welds meet all standards and customer requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance welding efficiency, reduce waste, and improve ergonomics.
- Maintain accurate records of welding activities, production outputs, and employee performance.
- Conduct or coordinate training for new hires and ongoing skill development for welders.
- Evaluate equipment needs and recommend repairs, upgrades, or replacements to maintain optimal operation.
- Lead safety and quality incident investigations related to welding processes and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to support new projects, fixture design, and process improvements.
- Ensure proper material handling, storage, and usage of welding consumables.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a culture of continuous learning within the welding department.
