About the team
The Platform Operations team at Roku plays a pivotal role in delivering a seamless end-user experience across our streaming platform. As a central hub, the team collaborates closely with Content Operations, Editorial, Engineering, QA, and Customer Support to ensure the reliability and quality of our service. This is a dynamic group that values technical expertise, cross-functional collaboration. A deep appreciation for the entertainment industry is desirable.
About the role
As a Technical Operations Engineer, you will be at the heart of Roku’s platform operations, working across multiple teams—including Programming Operations, Engineering, and Customer Support—to identify and resolve technical issues that impact our users. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, fluency in both Spanish and English, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will prioritize issues, maintain infrastructure, and drive quality by acting as a key liaison between engineering and business stakeholders. Ideal candidates bring a combination of technical knowledge, operational acumen, and a passion for entertainment technology
What you will be doing
- Prioritize issues for engineering to resolve and facilitating communication to operational and business stakeholders
- Work with the broader technical operations team to maintain Roku infrastructure
- Work with cross-functional teams to resolve day-to-day issues
We're excited if you have
- 5+ years of relevant technical experience in video or related technology disciplines
- Fluent in Spanish and English
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues and work with engineering and business owners
- Resolve problems independently and follow documented escalation procedures
- Comfortable and adaptable in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
- Interface with internal and external customers in a polite, positive, and professional manner.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, methodical and committed to driving quality forward
- Familiar with the Entertainment industry (or being a fan of movie/TV)
- Experience with CDNs, video display, audio output, streaming is plus
- Knowledge of consumer product and user interfaces and networking functionality is a plus
- Willing to work flexible hours including nights and/or Weekends
- Bachelor Degree or relevant work experience required
