We’re looking for a Senior Manager of Internal Communications to lead strategic, high-impact communications for DiDi’s Fintech business.
This role sits within the External Affairs team — alongside External Communications (PR), Government Affairs, and Measurement & Insights — and will work closely with these functions to ensure integrated messaging and alignment. You’ll also partner deeply with cross-functional teams including HR, Marketing, and Product to ensure Fintech narratives are consistent, engaging, and connected to the broader company mission. Success in this role requires the ability to influence senior stakeholders, navigate a complex matrix organization, and build communication frameworks from the ground up. Autonomy and senior-level decision-making are expected.
You will operate at the intersection of storytelling, leadership engagement, and organizational alignment, building integrated strategies that connect our Fintech teams to the broader company vision. This role demands exceptional narrative skills, cross-cultural collaboration, and the ability to deliver in a fast-paced, matrix-driven environment.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Strategy & Leadership Communications
Develop and execute a comprehensive Fintech internal communications strategy aligned with company-wide priorities.
Advise and support the Head of IBG Fintech and leadership team on executive communications, including message delivery, written updates, videos, and events.
Increase leadership visibility through strategic profiling, thought leadership initiatives, and engagement campaigns.
2. Content & Channel Management
Create compelling, employee-focused materials — presentations, internal posts, and multimedia — that bring Fintech milestones, priorities, and initiatives to life.
Ensure consistent messaging across key channels, including intranet, D-Chat, D-Channel, newsletters, and email, for both Fintech teams and the wider organization.
3. Events & Engagement
Lead the planning and delivery of Fintech All Hands and other internal events.
Partner with the broader IC team to integrate Fintech into high-visibility company gatherings, ensuring alignment with broader narratives and goals.
4. Change & Crisis Communications
Partner with leaders to design and deliver communication plans for organizational change, ensuring clarity, empathy, and engagement at every stage.
Serve as a key point of contact for internal messaging on Fintech-related crisis communications, ensuring timely, accurate, and aligned responses to all stakeholders.
5. People, Partners & Performance
Lead and mentor any Fintech IC team members, contractors, or interns, setting clear objectives and providing constructive feedback to drive high performance and growth.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, conducting regular performance reviews to ensure quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.
Oversee engagement tracking, analysis, and reporting against OKRs — using surveys, focus groups, and other feedback mechanisms to make data-driven improvements.
What Success Looks Like
Engaged Audiences: High participation in events, strong readership and interaction with content, and positive feedback on relevance and clarity.
Strategic Alignment: Employees and leaders understand Fintech priorities and see clear connections to the broader DiDi mission.
Innovation: Fresh, creative approaches to events, channels, and storytelling that set a benchmark for internal communications.
Strong, Seamless Relationships: Trusted partnerships with stakeholders and vendors, enabling smooth execution and mutual success.
Efficient Delivery: Budgets and timelines consistently met, with transparent measurement of outcomes.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
8+ years in internal communications leadership or head-of-function capacity in a multinational or high-growth, matrixed environment.
Proven ability to develop and execute integrated communication strategies from the ground up in complex, fast-changing environments.
Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and work effectively across cultures, geographies, and business functions.
Outstanding writing, editing, and storytelling skills across multiple formats.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to adapt quickly to new challenges.
Experience with digital communications, intranets, and multimedia content creation.
Strong curiosity and capability to learn about the Fintech business.
Fluent English, with experience adapting communication strategies across cultures and geographies; proficiency in Chinese, Spanish, or Portuguese strongly preferred.
