The Global Security team’s mission is to protect BRP's people, assets, reputation and development by establishing norms and standards, and ensuring their implementation by giving decision-makers a clear view of potential risks for the future and by analyzing, advising and providing expert services to the company, including investigation services.
BRP is looking for a leader with extensive experience in managing and supporting security functions and programs, including life safety, physical security, crisis management, business continuity and investigations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the execution and management of security activities for all BRP facilities in Latin America, including plants, warehouses, shipping sites, offices, test centres and supply chain, under applicable local laws, regulations and standards.
The manager must be comfortable working alongside, supporting and communicating easily with local management teams in their region. The leader must guarantee standardization of practices, support and awareness for security; identify priorities, risks and mitigation strategies; implement a safety action plan; share best practices and influence the safety culture for local leaders toward a proactive approach.
YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
- Work as part of the Global Corporate Security team to continuously improve the company's safety culture, practices and effectiveness; participate in the development of BRP's global security strategy, related policies and programs, and technology standards.
- Manage the security budget for all of Mexico’s security team and the relationship with security service providers, specifically for security guards, to ensure that service agreements are followed.
- Promote productive working relationships with internal and external partners, and build BRP's safety network.
- Standardize practices and create synergies in safety management across our Latin America sites.
- Implement appropriate governance between Operations and Global Security.
- Raise security awareness and provide training for the various stakeholders, and monitor the available information.
- Stay up-to-date concerning new trends and technological developments in the market.
- Support and coordinate incident and crisis management by leveraging our Local Emergency Response Committee (LERC).
- Ensure that BRP's planning and risk mitigation strategies for physical and personnel security comply with local requirements.
- Lead, guide and resolve incident investigations and liaise with law enforcement agencies on operational and strategic issues, as required.
- Provide information to the company about safety trends and needs by analyzing risk and vulnerability assessments.
- Support the implementation of and training for the Emergency Response Program (ERP).
- Bachelor's degree in a related field such as criminology, security, risk management, health and safety, or another related discipline or 10 years related experience as a security professional
- Experience in law enforcement and/or corporate security is a major asset.
- Professional security qualifications, e.g.: CPP, PSI, PSP or equivalent preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication in Spanish and English.
- Strong leadership skills. Previous management and/or program management experience is an asset.
- Strong work ethic/initiative.
- High integrity.
- Proficiency in Google, Office Suites and MicroSoft programs.
- Business acumen and experience in financial and budget management.
- Autonomy, self-confidence, and strong persuasive skills to gain the respect and trust of management.
