Job Summary
Location: Mexico City – Polanco and TecnoparqueIFF, one of the world's leading fragrance and flavor companies, is seeking a hands-on Senior Regional Payroll Manager. As the Payroll Manager, you will oversee payroll operations for the region you will be responsible for, ensuring compliance with local and international payroll regulations, establishing and implementing strategies across different countries in the region.
You will ensure compliance with all relevant internal controls, federal, state, and local regulations, as well as time reporting policies, while working under strict deadlines and maintaining confidentiality. Experience from large companies is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately process all aspects of payroll, including maintaining and processing time and attendance records, payroll deductions, compensation changes, overtime, shift changes, and withholding adjustments.
- Perform pre-processing and post-processing payroll reconciliation tasks as required.
- Prepare and provide all required payroll and related reports needed for month-end and payroll general ledger posting.
- Process benefits interfaces into and out of the payroll system and related funding.
- Review, troubleshoot, and resolve interface data that feeds into the payroll system.
- Respond to all auditor inquiries and participate in payroll audits.
- Complete mortgage and employment verification forms.
- Respond to inquiries and requests from local tax authorities.
- Address payroll inquiries from employees via email or tickets.
- Complete union dues monthly remittance and reports.
- Coordinate with Human Resources to ensure all employee information is accurately passed to payroll with appropriate backup for auditing purposes.
- Serve as the point of contact for payroll and timekeeping system troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Ensure accurate completion of periodic and year-end reporting information.
- Understand and manage the entire payroll flow, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned.
About You:
- Detail-oriented, organized payroll professional able to work under strict deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with employees and management.
- Logical and methodical work manner with a high level of attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.
Job Requirements:
- 12+ years of payroll processing experience with workday, HCM and local payroll providers.
- Firm understanding of payroll processing principles.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to interact with various levels of management.
- Ability to work well under strict deadlines in a high-volume environment where multi-tasking is essential.
- Knowledge of local tax regulations and implications.
- High level of confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Hands-on experience with payroll for 7,000-10,000 employees.
- Strong understanding of compliance requirements and payroll flow.
- Languages: Fluent English + local language.
