The Production Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules to ensure on-time delivery, optimal resource utilization, and cost efficiency. This role requires close collaboration with procurement, manufacturing, quality, and logistics teams to align production plans with customer demand and inventory targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and inventory levels.
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to accommodate changes in demand, capacity, or unexpected delays.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize workflow, reduce downtime, and improve efficiency.
- Maintain accurate data in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and generate related reports.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, schedule adherence, and inventory turnover.
- Communicate proactively with stakeholders regarding schedule changes or potential risks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain management (internship experience acceptable for junior positions).
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and planning methodologies (e.g., MRP, JIT)
