Your role and responsibilities (Mandatory)
In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the development and continuous improvement of packaging solutions for both finished goods and supplier components, ensuring optimal protection, cost-efficiency, and compliance with logistics and quality standards. The Packaging Engineer plays a key role in minimizing logistics-related defects (PPM), enhancing supply chain performance, and supporting the company’s growth by delivering innovative, sustainable, and scalable packaging strategies in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Business in Apodaca, Nuevo Leon.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Collaborate with suppliers, engineering, logistics, and quality teams to align packaging solutions with operational needs and product specifications.
Develop and validate packaging designs for finished goods and supplier components, ensuring product integrity and compliance with handling and transport requirements.Using quality data analytics from the organization to identify risks, failures, and non-conformances.
Conduct packaging trials, simulations, and physical testing to ensure durability, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
Maintain and update packaging documentation, specifications, and technical drawings in accordance with internal and external standards.
Evaluate and select packaging materials and suppliers based on performance, cost, and environmental impact.
Qualifications for the role (Mandatory)
Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering (Mechanical Engineering, or related).
3+ years packaging design and development, preferably in a
manufacturing or logistics environment.
Ability to manage packaging-related projects from concept to implementation. Packaging materials and methods (corrugated, foam, thermoform, etc.). Experience working with suppliers on packaging development and validation.
Advanced English Level.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Basic understanding of logistics and supply chain processes.
Quality standards and defect analysis (PPM, root cause analysis)
Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
Experience in packaging for metal components (steel, copper, aluminum)
Exposure to lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or Six Sigma.
Knowledge in SAP, and Power BI desired.
