Join Lonza AG as a Global Controls Engineer and be a part of a hardworking team dedicated to crafting outstanding automation solutions! This role is essential to the ongoing growth and innovation of our global operations in Greenwood, SC, USA.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop, replicate, modify, and support global automation systems used at sites in Belgium, France, US, Mexico, China, Japan, and India.
- Apply sophisticated PLC/SCADA/Simotion proficiencies in global initiatives, with expertise in the software development process.
- Build test plans to verify software fitness for use.
- Carry out commissioning and support validation of control systems.
- Develop accurate time estimates for control software development tasks.
- Act as a liaison between R&D and production site automation (control systems) engineers/maintenance.
- Help management encourage colleagues to actively contribute to environmental and health safety initiatives.
- Design modifications to existing automation systems based on process diagrams, user requirements, functional requirements, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), and machine mechanical drawings.
Key requirements:
- Master of Science or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Robotics, with an emphasis on automation.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment, and open to mentorship from senior colleagues.
- Strong project development, implementation, and communication skills.
- Highly organized and diligent.
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in a manufacturing environment.
