The Financial Controller manages month-end closing, analyzing financial information, preparing financial reports, overseeing tax and other regulatory filings and maintaining the integrity of the company’s overall financial system for the Manufacturing Operations in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico.
Main Responsibilities:
- Review and approve account reconciliations & journal entries, guiding the team on technical account aspects of entries/reconciliations.
- Work with the accounting team prepare monthly financial statement packages, footnotes, and schedules to corporate.
- Complete P&L and Balance Sheet reviews to ensure data integrity across various systems.
- Perform variance analysis on material, labor and overhead cost and provide insights and recommendations.
- Lead the annual budget process and subsequent analysis on actual and variances.
- Present month end results and provide recommendations to CFO and top leadership.
- Manage Travel & Expense accounting processes and system.
- Oversee and support all internal and external tax and audit requests.
- Work with Corporate and intercompany teams on special projects and ad-rock requests.
- Support cross functional projects and collaborate with the other departments on special assignments.
- Work with department heads to control and forecast department expenses.
- Manage and support guidance for Capital Acquisition Request and analysis. Partner with other business unit departments on ad-hoc projects to estimate ROI cost effectiveness of key decisions,
- Establishes methodology to monitor and continuously improve performance of systems / processes.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- 8-10 years of experience in accounting/audit role with at least 5 years as a manager
- CPA required.
- Project management skills, organized, with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; including the ability to remain flexible when encountering tight time schedules
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to research, analyze, and reconcile
- Oracle ERP experience preferred, Big 4 experience is an advantage
- Interpersonal Skills and Personnel Management
- Responsible, dependable, and able to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Advanced English (ability to communicate in English with people from other countries).
