ROLE SUMMARY:
The Wingate School (TWS) is an accredited Cambridge International School and an IB World School in Mexico City that offers an educational programme focussed on academic excellence, creativity and human formation. TWS teaches the International Early Years Curriculum in Kindergarten, the International Primary Curriculum, and the Cambridge Lower Secondary Curriculum. The school is a member of the Latin American Heads Conference, was awarded the Foundation Level of British Council’s International School Award and was recently named "One of the 10 best international schools in Latin America" by The Knowledge Review.
The Wingate School is seeking a Director Técnico UNAM to ensure full compliance with SEP and UNAM requirements for our Preparatoria program, while also serving as a key liaison with parents, the PTA, and school operations. This role blends academic oversight with strong organizational, administrative, and community-facing responsibilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure full compliance with SEP and UNAM regulations for the Preparatoria program.
- Oversee academic integrity, curriculum alignment, and teacher qualifications.
- Coordinate audits, inspections, and reporting with SEP/UNAM authorities.
- Act as a primary contact for parents and the PTA, fostering positive communication.
- Support school-wide initiatives, parent meetings, and community events.
- Manage civil protection protocols, safety measures, and accident insurance compliance.
- Prepare and maintain required reports, records, and documentation.
- Use Excel and office tools for data management, scheduling, and reporting.
- Collaborate with school leadership to resolve operational and administrative issues.
- Provide professional, empathetic support to families and staff.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Administration, Economics, Law, Engineering, Sociology, Humanities.
- Degree must be titled and officially registered/validated with SEP.
- At least 5 years of verifiable experience in the education sector.
- Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish) with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and maintain positive relationships with parents, staff, and students.
- Proven ability to be highly organized, proactive, and solutions-oriented.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general office software.
- Experience handling operational matters such as parent relations, PTA support, insurance, or civil protection is highly desirable.
