Position Overview
We are seeking a Customer Service & Collections Agent with a strong understanding of real estate finance and public records research. This individual must be highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing high-volume customer interactions across multiple communication channels—including phone, email, chat, and text. The ideal candidate is comfortable with repetitive tasks, excels under pressure, and can effectively navigate difficult conversations with clients regarding outstanding balances and payment arrangements.
Since we are a rapidly growing startup with evolving policies, we need a critical thinker and problem solver who can make sound judgment calls in real-time. This role also requires strong research skills to locate and verify public records, broker information, and contact details to support collections efforts.
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Collections
- Manage inbound and outbound customer interactions through phone, email, chat, and text.
- Engage in professional yet firm conversations regarding delinquent accounts and payment obligations.
- Assess client financial situations and negotiate reasonable payment plans with good judgment.
- Maintain empathy and professionalism while ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Follow up on outstanding balances and take necessary actions to recover funds.
Real Estate Finance & Public Records Research
- Conduct thorough public records research to locate brokerage details, agent contact information, and financial obligations.
- Understand and apply knowledge of real estate transactions, commission structures, and UCC filings to support collection efforts.
- Verify the accuracy of financial records and update databases with the latest contact and account information.
Problem-Solving & Adaptability
- Make critical decisions in a fast-paced environment where formalized policies are still being developed.
- Proactively identify gaps in current processes and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Adapt quickly to changes in procedures, software, and regulatory guidelines.
Administrative & Compliance
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all customer interactions and payment arrangements.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory guidelines related to collections, finance, and real estate transactions.
- Manage high volumes of support tickets, calls, and messages within strict SLAs.
