Responsibilities:
The CNC Shop Engineer I is tasked with taking 3D software models and creating physical shapes used
for product development prototypes and production tooling for the Americas. This individual is programming at an intermediate and above level while running multiple projects of medium to large scale, operating multiple CNC machines in parallel.
Work closely with the product development and manufacturing teams to implement exciting new products from concept through production CNC Programming of master molds and models for every NPD project that goes through the CNC - Medium to large scale and multiple CNC machines at a time.

Execute prototype builds for Advanced Concepts. Participate in ID mockup builds to bring design concepts to life. Attend design reviews with engineering design team to verify manufacturability Undertake carpentry projects for creating mockups and prototypes.
Utilize CNC capabilities for thermoforming of ceramics and bathing products. Work on prototypes for thermoformed products.
Collaborate with the team to enhance Creo 3D Product Design capabilities. Support increased productivity for NPD.

Experiment and learn with molding rubbers and elastomers for prototyping purposes.
Stay updated on new materials and techniques relevant to CNC machining. Take part in training with team members on manufacturing and programming techniques.

Maintain workshop safety. Direct responsibility for maintaining shop machinery and equipment. Maintain Shop 5S organization and cleanliness. Oversees the preparation
of work to support CNC machining operation, shop maintenance, shop daily cleaning.
Oversees post CNC machining activities including mold hand finishing, 3D scanning for dimensional analysis and mold fitment. Prepare molds and models for shipment including gluing in inserts, packing and construction of shipping crates.

Diploma or technical school degree.
- 4+ years hands on experience with wood or metal working required.
- Intermediate programming skills using one of the following software applications: Creo 5, Pro E /NC, Virtual Gibbs, Master Cam, Siemens NX, Power mill, or Solid Cam)
- Experience with the design and manufacture of molds and patterns is preferable.
- Intermediate skill level in manipulation of CAD-Cam using CREO 5 preferred or equivalent Cad Software
- Basic carpentry skills, experience with manual and power tools
- Strong work ethic to drive the shop to a higher level of productivity and quality
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment
- Safety minded and good team skills.
