Join Chubb’s Cloud Platform team and be a part of our digital transformation journey. We are accelerating our application transformation into containers and cloud adoption, and we are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to join us on this exciting path.
As a Cloud Engineer, you will have hands-on experience with container platforms like Kubernetes, cloud platforms such as Azure, and software development and DevOps enablement through automation and Infrastructure as Code. You will be a key member of our global Cloud Platform team, responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting our global Cloud and Kubernetes platforms. You will collaborate with members of the Cloud Operations and Engineering team to develop and roll out new features and services.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational support for our Kubernetes and Cloud infrastructure
- Participate in the Cloud on-call rotation, providing off-hour support
- Maintain a secure and highly available infrastructure
- Support escalations from our Technical Operations Center
- Respond to and resolve production issues, participate in incident reviews, and implement corrective actions
- Manage the ServiceNow queue, ensuring tivkets are resolved efficiently and timely
- Optimize and enhance our Kubernetes and Cloud platforms
- Identify and automate repeatable manual tasks
- Implement automation and self-service capabilities using CI/CD pipelines
- Collaborate with team to standardize and enhance the monitoring and logging framework
- Develop and maintain Knowledge Base articles and conduct training sessions to educate users on services and automation capabilities
Qualifications
- Experience with large cloud transformation projects, preferably in Azure
- Hands-on experience with Azure cloud platform components such as IAM, Load Balancers, App Gateway, NSG, Storage Account, Application Services, Key Vault
- Expertise in writing Infrastructure as Code and pipelines using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Bash, PowerShell, and Jenkins, including test automation
- Ability to work in both Windows and Linux environments and with container platforms such as AKS, and EKS
- Experience with tools like GitHub, Jenkins, and Nexus for pipeline automation and artifact management
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as ScienceLogic, ELK, Prometheus, and Azure Monitor
- Strong grasp of security principles, best practices, and frameworks
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug complex cross-system issues and document root causes, remediation, detection, and avoidance
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent experience
- Proven track record supporting IT operations, Azure, and Kubernetes
- Desirable certifications: Azure, Terraform, Kubernetes.
