About the Role
In this opportunity as a Senior Associate Procurement, you will:
  • Manage complex supply relationships to deliver value through contracts, negotiations, business reviews, cost savings, supplier management and service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Lead strategic sourcing category projects and transformational initiatives by developing and executing project plans based on internal client needs and market trends; apply the appropriate methodologies (e.g., market research, spend analysis, RFPs, etc.) to develop sourcing strategies and achieve desired outcomes
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of assigned procurement categories including supplier management, policy compliance, data collection and reporting
  • Develop, implement and manage operational processes and procedures in alignment with Thomson Reuter’s procurement strategy
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for senior leadership regarding status updates, trends, risk mitigation, savings results and other relevant information related to assigned procurement categories
  • Provide guidance and training to junior staff members
  • Work effectively with cross functional teams such as Legal, Finance, Operations, IT, HR, Marketing, Sales and external customers/suppliers
  • Apply a deep understanding of industry best practices and standards to continuously improve departmental efficiency and effectiveness
About You
You're a fit for the role of Senior Associate Procurement if your background includes:
  • High school diploma required
  • 2+ years of procurement experience
  • Experience working in a shared services environment preferred
  • Experience in Marketing, HR, Print, Legal Services, Consultant subcategories
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, customer service and presentation skills
  • Ability to build strong personal relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Results oriented individual who can work independently or collaboratively and maintain a positive attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines and balance multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to think critically and creatively, solve problems, make sound decisions and provide innovative solutions
  • Ability to learn quickly and independently, adapt to change and cope with ambiguity in a fast moving global environment
