As a leading developer, manufacturer, and global supplier of scientific laboratory products for 100 years, Corning’s Life Sciences segment collaborates with researchers seeking new approaches to increase efficiencies, reduce costs and compress timelines in the drug discovery process. Role Purpose
- Implement scientific molding across all molding area.
- Communicates knowledge to Engineers & Technicians.
- Manages investment projects
- Evaluates new possible resins, in order to have an alternative or option or to obtain a cost reduction.
- Establish communication with division engineers.
- Quote new equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Fill out AR (Appropriation Request) & CCF (Change Control Form) when applicable.
- Provide day-to-day problem-solving support to production, development and research operations.
- To trained operators and trades personnel on new equipment and processes.
- Uses rigorous processes and technical knowledge to build detailed technical understanding for key process steps.
- Trouble shoots material, process and equipment issues, identifies root cause and implements corrective action.
- Implements and documents material, process and/or equipment changes.
- Uses simple statistical tools to Designed Experiments (DOE) in improvements and problem-solving process.
- Introduces new equipment and technologies, providing resolution to its technical problems
- Works directly on improving machinery equipment and process performance
- Identifies and implements quality and capacities cost savings
- Provides direct support to the fundamental comprehension of production processes
- Provides support in the execution and plan developing to evaluate new technologies or develop existing technologies, to have as a result a superior quality and cost saving product.
- To work with Tooling Engineer on design or improve new and actual molds
- Performance Metrics o Capability & Capacity (product, process and equipment)
- Learning Curve Selects, Rates, Equipment Uptime
- Cost Reduction Impact ($’s)
- Project Delivery Metrics (Stated objectives realized, on budget -capital and expense on time)
- New product introductions & Technology roadmap
- Intellectual Property management
- Customer Satisfaction (Quality, Delivery, Product Performance) PPM.
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor Degree mechatronics or electromechanical, or related.
- Demonstrated delivery of results through project and organizational leadership
- Demonstrated track record (Performance Results and People Development)
- Certified Green Belt
- English conversational level
Experiences/Education - Desired
- ISO 13485 and ISO 14000
- FDA Requirements
- B.S. or equivalent technical degree
- Demonstrated knowledge on technical field.
- Project Ownership.
- Demonstrated track record of success in a series of increasing responsibilities
- Proven leadership experience o Experience with data collection and data analysis software and techniques, including Excel, Mini Tab, Pi, Access.
- Autocad
- Knowledge of design validation’s MVPs & protocols.
