Trimble has an opening for a Software Developer Engineer in Test (SDET) Level 2 position in Mexicali. It is an exciting time to join as we grow our Agentic AI offerings, bringing new AI features and technologies to our award-winning construction collaboration products.
The AI SDET is responsible for improving the quality of software releases through automation processes and tools enhancements. Working in an agile development environment, the AI SDET will develop and apply customized AI testing methodologies to show measurable improvements to the released software. This includes responsibility for using AI to automate test cases and pipeline workflows to accelerate our testing and release cycles. In addition, the AI SDET will be responsible for testing new AI components embedded within our product set.
What You Will Do
- Test new AI components that are embedded in Trimble products
- Develop and adapt AI test tools to our QA processes with a focus on increasing productivity
- Evangelize new AI test tools, techniques, and best practices to QA team members
- Train QA team members on the use of newly available AI tools
- Implement and maintain automation scripts and test automation framework
- Continuously evaluate and improve defined software processes, incorporating AI
- Evaluate and recommend new commercially available AI test tools
- Define test objectives and collaborate with the QA Team and other departments to achieve project goals
- Perform moderately complex functional, application, regression, and performance testing
- Define and adhere to quality initiatives

- rovide metrics and results from all testing efforts that will support business decisions related to the quality of the Trimble software
- Detecting and mitigating model biases and risks.
- Apply evaluation concepts on LLM , computervision, speech recognition, or any AI tools developed for Trimble products.

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field plus a minimum of two years relevant experience in software quality assurance and test automation
- MCP server experience
- Strong understanding of AI basic concepts. (LLM, NLP, Machine Learning, others)
- Demonstrated experience with testing embedded AI products; AI test automation is a plus.
- Ability to create AI agents using multiple AI tools in a QA environment
- Prior experience in test automation and scripting in Python, C#, or Java
- Strong understanding of QA processes
- Knowledge of cloud and virtualization testing environments and deployment testing
- Strong technical skills
- Experience with QA-related tools for requirements management, test management, and defect tracking
What Skills & Experience You Could Bring
- Prior experience in a global work environment
- Knowledge of performance and security testing tools and techniques
- Familiar with embedded AI and chatbot testing techniques
- Working knowledge of Jira and/or C#
- Knowledge of construction back office functions and/or accounting
Working Conditions
Work takes place in an office setting. It requires the ability to sit and work at a keyboard for extended periods of time and communicate with team members and other departments in person and by phone, computer, and video teleconferencing.
This position requires regular interaction with team members in an agile development environment. The ability to be present at the work site on a core schedule that facilitates team interaction is essential to the successful performance of this job.
