Dow has an opportunity for a Senior Maintenance Engineer, based in Querétaro - MEX
In this role you will be responsible for developing and implementing the site’s maintenance strategy, supporting engineering needs, and addressing unplanned events. The role focuses on long-term reliability improvements and high-risk opportunities identified through assessments and models.
Responsibilities:
General Maintenance & Reliability
- Integrate safety and industrial hygiene into maintenance planning.
- Develop and review maintenance procedures and checklists.
- Own and analyze KPIs like Asset Maintenance Reliability (AMR) and equipment failure.
- Ensure compliance with Global Maintenance Work Processes (GMWP) and SAP usage.
- Provide input to global project methodologies (e.g., reliability modeling, value engineering).
Technical Expertise
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and assess design suitability.
- Contribute to turnaround planning and critical equipment reviews.
- Analyze maintenance spending and initiate reliability-related changes.
- Maintain cost-of-ownership models to identify improvement opportunities.
Support to MRO and PPM Coordination
- Optimize spare parts inventory using reliability principles.
- Collaborate with PPM Coordinator to define and evaluate preventive maintenance plans.
- Drive PPM optimization for productivity improvements.
Highly Reliable Organization (HRO) Implementation
- Lead reliability teams and implement HRO principles.
- Facilitate Root Cause Investigation (RCI) processes and coach others.
- Develop and validate Equipment Reliability Strategies (ERS).
- Use tools like Weibull, FMEA, Six Sigma to improve reliability metrics.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical engineering or related.
- English advanced
- Minimum of 4 years of experience working in the industry

- Preventive Maintenance: Preventive maintenance (PM) is maintenance that is proactively performed on an asset with the goal of lessening the likelihood of failure, reducing unexpected downtime, and prolonging its useful life.
- Productivity Improvements: Productivity improvement refers to a measure of economic performance that compares the amount of goods and services produced (output) with the amount of inputs used to produce those goods and services.
