Our flagship campus is in Sydney, Australia but we engage our Contractors all over the world to help us meet our crazy big goals. As a Contractor at Canva you can work remotely in from anywhere in the location of this ad (Mexico), meaning you have ultimate flexibility. Wherever works for you, works for us. Please note, this is a 6-month contract with full-time hours.
What you’d be doing in this role
We are looking for a Design Ops Manager who will help support Regional Content team/s in delivering content projects across creation and curation.
Sitting in the Design Operations sub-specialty, effective project management and well-rounded communication skill are key expectations of this role. The ability to navigate complexity, turning chaos into clarity, will need to be exemplified through project plans, roadmaps, and regular team cadences. Engaging with stakeholders & team members form part of this role & will be vital in enabling the team to achieve its goals.

At the moment, this role is focused on:
Fostering collaboration and alignment
- Foster effective collaboration within the Regional Content team/s in partnership with the Regional and Global content leads, and other regional teams such as Marketing, SEO and Partnerships.
- Facilitate strategic and delivery planning between Regional Leads, Country Managers and local creative teams to ensure alignment between content strategies and Company-level country goals.
- Proactively engage with local team leads, team members, and stakeholders to maintain alignment and ensure efficient ways of working.
Owning and maintain operational foundations
- Manage the operating rhythm of the local creative teams, including communication structures, team cadence and processes across content planning, reporting and stakeholder management.
- Maximise global operational processes, implementing a tailor-fit approach to the operational needs of the local content teams and regional stakeholders.
Campaign oversight and ownership
- Ownership of stakeholder communications and relationship with the Country Creative Lead/s and International Design Ops Lead, you will be the day-to-day contact for all campaign stakeholders so clear, proactive communication is required.
- Oversight of campaign roadmap and milestones including rallying the team to delivery, clearing blockers, and maintaining clear, open comms with the team and stakeholders to ensure deadlines are met.
- Communicate blockers, resourcing needs, and trade-offs with Regional Content Lead, Design Ops Lead, Content Strategy Lead and Design Lead.
- Where appropriate, suggest new processes or optimisations to accommodate changes in the requirement.
You're probably a match if
- You have proven project management experience in a creative setup / agency / studio operations (advertising, digital marketing, SaaS companies); a background in content is not a requirement but definitely a plus!
- You have strong working knowledge of the creative process and superb organisation skills, seeing projects through from planning, delivery, reporting to post-mortems.
- You have a knack for managing a team of creatives, keeping team members on track with project milestones and rallying them through to the finish line.
- You have effective communication skills that lend clarity to chaos and drive action from team members and stakeholders alike.
- You’re a good human who looks out for their team by not only finding the best way forward but also timely flagging any blockers or challenges that the team may face along the way.

You’ll be working with us, the International Content Team. The vision for i18n Content is to create, curate and surface Truly Local & Diverse content for users of Canva around the world.
Our mission is to make Canva the go-to place for everyone’s design needs not only by creating thousands of templates anyone can customise but also by ensuring that our collection is the best out there. We don’t just want to make regular stock content: we are creating truly bespoke, truly local and truly diverse content that best represent our users. We want to ensure all of our content meet excellent quality criteria by creating standards and processes that encompass both cultural relevance and Canva design principles.
