Job Description
The Regional Buyer Leader role is a critical role in the Supply Chain organization. In this role, you will be responsible for partnering with teammates in supply planning and operations in order to create and successfully execute an integrated production plan to support business needs. Through a deep understanding of our business, you will build a responsive network that can react to the volatility of the market, while also managing direct material spend, indirect material spend, intercompany purchasing and vendor management. As critical member of Procurement leadership, you will drive initiatives to meet team goals and ensure the continuous improvement of processes while also optimizing the delivery of materials, implementing strategies to drive higher inventory turnover and synchronizing purchasing plans with production schedules. Frequent and effective interactions with demand planning, supply planning, factories, and logistics teams will be essential to ensuring success.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee direct, indirect, and corporate procurement as a strategic sourcing leader holding responsibility for the policy and adherence.
- Develop a detailed understanding of the manufacturing capacities, capabilities and constraints for each production facility within the region.
- Provide relevant data in order to drive and lead medium-term tactical and long-term strategic discussions regarding the purchasing plans you develop and execute in support of the regional supply plan.
- Ensure effective communication across manufacturing facilities, Customer Care, Commercial and broader supply chain organization to ensure all involved are updated and aware of potential opportunities or risks that impact the overall results of the business.
- Actively participate in the monthly S&OP process by providing feedback on procurement plans and strategies as well as identifying any shortfalls to meeting the supply plan. Provide solutions on prioritization of what to procure in order to achieve financial targets.
- Utilize internal systems to proactively identify and communicate key drivers and proposed solutions to service Raw Material inventory shortages, correct instances of overstock and ultimately drive a procurement plan that ensures WireCo has the right material on the shelf to meet supply requirements.
- Work with supply planning team to provide forecasts for raw material delivery based on finished goods demand and ensure sufficient raw material supply to the plant.
- Develop and drive programs to optimize indirect spend categories based upon established financial targets.
- Maintain established vendor relationships while continually searching for, and establishing, new vendor relationships that are aligned with the strategic goals of WireCo.
Internal Analysis Targeting Costs:
- Conduct detailed cost analyses to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather and analyze cost data, providing actionable insights.
- Develop and maintain cost tracking mechanisms and reporting tools.
Supplier Evaluation and Management:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and sustainability criteria.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
- Monitor supplier performance through regular assessments and implement corrective actions as needed.
Project Planning and Management:
- Lead and manage procurement projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and resolve any issues that arise.
- Track project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Foster strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuous improvement and innovation.
Sustainable Procurement:
- Develop and implement sustainable procurement strategies that align with the company’s environmental and social responsibility goals.
- Evaluate suppliers based on their sustainability practices and work with them to improve their environmental impact.
- Promote the adoption of sustainable materials, products, and services within the procurement process.
- Track and report on the sustainability performance of procurement activities.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred in Supply Chain, Business Management, Finance, Operations, Engineering or similar ) or 8 years equivalent, relevant work experience
- Demonstrated experience solving complex problems using quantitative and analytical skills
- Self-starter with strong desire to learn, ability to multi-task, and focus on details.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills at all levels of organization.
- Demonstrated experience with regional sourcing in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a drive to deliver outstanding results with a positive attitude towards work and challenge.
- Candidate must be proficient with MS Excel (i.e., VLOOKUP, INDEX MATCH, SUMIF, Pivot Tables) & PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
- Experience in using Advance Planning & Scheduling (APS) tools, (i.e., Kinaxis, Logility, o9)
- APICS certification
- Experience in multi-site intercompany procurement
- Experience in procurement of high-carbon steel
- Industrial manufacturing experience
- International manufacturing experience
- Proficiency in Spanish language, in addition to English
