Job Description
Arcadis is looking to hire a Project Coordinator to lead the management team for a large-scale data center construction project. This position requires regular travel between the construction site and Arcadis' Mexico City office to facilitate proper coordination between field operations and corporate resources.
As a Project Coordinator, you will serve as the strategic decision-maker within the project structure, bringing client knowledge and requirements together with Arcadis' control methodologies. Based on the flowcharts, you will be responsible for approvals, specific requirements implementation, and strategic oversight of the entire project control system. You will lead solutions development when non-compliance is identified and ensure proper measurement and records management throughout the project lifecycle.
Role Accountabilities
- Hierarchically coordinates the Management Team, providing leadership and strategic direction based on client requirements.
- Promote integration between the Management Team and Client to ensure alignment with project goals and specifications.
- Consolidate, together with the Client team, management strategies and Project Control Parameters, translating them into specific requirements as shown in the control flowcharts.
- Jointly with Client, control project costs, schedule, quality, and safety during implementation through strategic oversight.
- Ensure compliance with Client procedures and current regulatory Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards.
- Guarantee that all resources embrace the HSE culture throughout the project, establishing control requirements.
- Coordinate the interfaces between suppliers (equipment, civil construction, assembly) to minimize conflicts and optimize workflow.
- Manage and oversee the interfaces between areas under command to ensure smooth collaboration.
- Facilitate periodic evaluations of project progress with key team members, conducting project audits to verify process compliance.
- Consolidate Monthly Progress Reports issued by Arcadis for client review and approval.
- Present a consolidated monthly report on HSE, Costs, Planning, and Risks to stakeholders.
- Ensure the team fully understands the HSE, Costs, Planning, and Risks report implications and takes appropriate action.
- Ensure monthly financial accuracy targets are met for the project, maintaining precise measurement and records.
- Guarantee the application of Client's project engineering processes through monitoring and approval activities.
- Lead the study of control requirements and translate them into actionable approvals, as illustrated in the flowcharts.
- Coordinate and supervise the technical documentation archive of the project, ensuring proper records maintenance.
- Lead development of solutions and impact studies when non-compliance is identified.
- Make strategic decisions regarding contractual sanctions or revisions based on performance metrics.
- Oversee the review planning process to ensure recovery plans are effectively implemented.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Degree required).
- Master's degree would be beneficial – Project Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in project management for large-scale construction projects, preferably in data centers or similar technical facilities.
- Proven experience managing large, multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in coordinating multiple contractors and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Deep knowledge of Project Management methodologies and best practices.
- Experience in risk management and mitigation strategies.
- Full command of verbal and written English communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and ability to handle high-pressure situations.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP certification.
- Experience with data center or mission-critical facility construction.
- Experience with international clients and global project standards.
