Scope
This position will be based in Matamoros, MX. And reports to Business Development Manager.
Main activities
Design new products for manufacturing based on customer briefs, internal manufacturing needs and mold construction
Define raw material for each component base on the application of the packaging and trasnformation process.
Support the vaidation of design through 3D printed modeling, unit tools or softwares such as mold flow.
Creating assembly and detailed drawings of each component for the construction of the molds.
Define critical dimensions, tolerances and fuctional specifications for all new products developed.
As part of project team, you have to participate actively at the FMEA and Risk Analysis meetings
Participating in the development phase of product design by contributing to brainstorming sessions and follow-up studies, working directly with the NPD team.
Providing technical support to the teams (factories, Project managers, etc.) on root cause analysis of issues related with product design.
Participating in meetings to understand project requirements and provide design insights
Making revisions and adjustments based on feedback to achieve the desired result
Staying updated with industry trends, design techniques, and emerging technologies
Actively seek and incorporate feedback from stakeholders to refine and improve design outcomes.
support NPD team and customer on technical discussions of each projects.
Accountability including KPIs
Ensure customer needs are understood and are translated into design solutions.
Ensure product functionality by creating prototypes and conducting tests to evaluate product designs
Ensure timely delivery and adherence to project specifications.
Ensure design challenges related to manufacturing, performance, and user experience are identified and resolved
Ensure the preparation of detailed design specifications, raw material selection, drawings, and technical documentation.
Profile (Experience & qualifications)
Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferably Mechanical or plastic design.
"Experience 5-7 years designing rigid plastic products (desirable cosmetic packaging)
Experience supervising others? No."
High Proficiency in using 3D CAD software preferably SolidWorks
Level of English & Spanish– Advanced – writing and conversation
Technical experience and expert understanding of injection mold design and understanding of the Injection, IBM, EBM and assembly processes
